About the show

Mark Rosenblatt's Olivier Award-winning 2023 play tracks a single afternoon in 1983 — Roald Dahl's publishers attempt to convince him to walk back an antisemitic review he has written for the Literary Review. John Lithgow reprises his Olivier-winning performance as Dahl. Limited 16-week engagement at the Music Box: opens March 23, closes June 28, 2026. The production will be filmed for a fall 2026 cinema release.

Content advisory: Recommended ages 14+. Themes of antisemitism, free-speech debate, family conflict. The afternoon is dialogue-driven; no on-stage violence.
