Intimate house, well-suited to Hadestown.
The short version
The Walter Kerr is one of the smaller Broadway houses — 975 seats — and the band sits on stage as part of the world of the show. Sight lines are good throughout; even the rear mezzanine is well within reach. The orchestra has the warmest acoustic; mezzanine gets the cleanest visual on the staging's lower-level / upper-level New-Orleans-meets-Hadestown geometry.
Section by section
Sections are ordered roughly cheapest-to-most-expensive within the house's seating tiers — but the best value isn't always the cheapest. Watch for the sweet spot.
-
Orchestra
Premium tier in the centre; warmest acoustic in the house. Side orchestra has slight angle but is still very close.
-
Mezzanine
Cleanest view of the staging's vertical geometry (Hadestown is built around an above/below underworld set). Front mezz is the best value pick; rear mezz is the cheap legitimate seat.
