The short version
The Neil Simon's mid-sized configuration keeps even rear mezzanine within reasonable distance of the stage. The dance numbers are the show's centrepiece — anywhere with a clean full-stage view rewards you. Centre orchestra is premium for proximity; front mezzanine has the best wide angle on the ensemble choreography. Side orchestra can clip some of the upstage projections.
Section by section
Sections are ordered roughly cheapest-to-most-expensive within the house's seating tiers — but the best value isn't always the cheapest. Watch for the sweet spot.
-
Orchestra
Premium tier in the centre, cheaper on the sides. Side orchestra rows can lose upstage projections — front mezzanine is often a better value.
-
Front Mezzanine
Best wide-angle view of the dance ensemble. The consensus pick for value at the Neil Simon.
-
Rear Mezzanine
Furthest seats. Full coverage of the staging; you lose some facial detail. The cheap legitimate option if the lottery doesn't hit.
