Broadway's largest theatre. Home of Wicked since 2003.
The short version
The Gershwin is Broadway's largest theatre — sight lines vary more than at smaller houses. Front-mezzanine center is widely considered the sweet spot: full stage picture without the deep angle of rear orchestra. The far-side orchestra seats are cheaper but lose some of the upstage visual effects. Standing-room is not regularly sold; rear-mezzanine 'partial view' designations are usually genuine — check before booking.
Section by section
Sections are ordered roughly cheapest-to-most-expensive within the house's seating tiers — but the best value isn't always the cheapest. Watch for the sweet spot.
-
Orchestra
Rows A–Y. Center sections best for immersion; side sections (1–6 / 27–32) are cheaper but can have angled views of upstage tableaux.
-
Front Mezzanine
Rows A–E. Often considered the best value in the house — full stage picture, no neck angle. The widely recommended pick.
-
Rear Mezzanine
Rows F–L. Furthest from the stage; some seats designated 'partial view.' Cheapest but worth the trade-off only on a tight budget.
