Broadway Theatre
1681 Broadway, New York, NY 10019
The Broadway Theatre — confusingly named, since it’s one venue among many on Broadway — is a 1,761-seat house operated by the Shubert Organization, currently home to The Great Gatsby since 2024. It sits on Broadway itself (the avenue), at 1681 Broadway near West 53rd Street, slightly uptown from the main Times Square cluster.
The room’s scale suits large spectacle musicals. The orchestra is wide and the balcony substantial; sight lines vary more by section here than in the mid-sized houses. Centre orchestra is the premium pick; front mezzanine offers strong value for productions with elaborate staging that benefits from a slightly elevated viewing angle. The rear balcony is genuinely far — fine for a familiar show or a price-conscious second visit, less ideal as a first impression.
Address: 1681 Broadway, between West 52nd and 53rd Streets.
