The Richard Rodgers Theatre has been the home of Hamilton since the show transferred to Broadway in 2015. It’s a 1,380-seat house — comfortably mid-sized — operated by the Nederlander Organization. The room’s proportions suit a hip-hop musical with a small ensemble and a turntable-driven set: the relatively narrow orchestra pulls the audience close to the action, and the single mezzanine sits at a height where the choreographic geometry reads cleanly.

For ticket-buyers, the practical thing to know is that Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers is one of the more sight-line-forgiving stagings on Broadway. The turntable is the centre of the action; almost every seat in the orchestra and front mezzanine has a clear view of it. Side-orchestra seats lose some of the upstage staging but keep the turntable in frame. The rear mezzanine, often dismissed at other houses, holds up well here because the staging is built around the visible centre of the stage rather than its corners.
